Meet Dr. Jeanne L. Fourrier, DDS, MHS

Dr. Fourrier received her D.D.S. degree from Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in 1980. In 1982 she received her specialty training at Medical University of South Carolina a Certificate of Periodontics and a Masters of Health Sciences.

Dr. Fourrier has been placing implants since 1992 and has been certified in placing multiple implant systems with emphasis on the Bicon System, Zimmer System and mini-implant systems.

She is also the first Periodontist licensed in the state of South Carolina to treat her patients with the new FDA approved (LANAP) - Laser Assisted New Attachment Procedure to treat all stages of periodontal disease.

Dr. Fourrier a clinical associate professor at the medical university of South Carolina and at the LSU School of Dentistry in New Orleans Louisiana. She teaches the undergraduate dental students and lectures and instructs the periodontal residents both academically and in the clinic. She has lectured at State and National periodontal meetings and has lectured internationally as well.

She is a professional member of the American Academy of Periodontology, S.C. Society of Periodontics, International Congress of Oral Implantologist, American Dental Association, P.D. District Dental Society, Grand Stand Dental Society, and a charter member of Oral & Craniofacial Tissue Engineering.

In addition to her professional responsibilities, Dr. Fourrier is married, is the mother of 3 children, and devotes her time not only to her patients in her practice, but also her family, her church. She has done a great deal of volunteer work both locally and abroad. Her special interest is the Mission work she has done in Haiti over the last 20 years. Dr. Fourrier was instrumental in starting mobile dental clinics in many of the villages of Haiti, and starting preventive dental programs by educating the teachers and students on proper brushing and administering yearly fluoride treatments. Over 15,000 children have benefited from these programs. She has seen the incidence of dental decay decrease tremendously.

She was recognized by Rotary International in 2009 for her 3rd world mission work and she received the Service Above Self Award from Rotary International in 2014.
