A dental implant is a titanium fixture that replaces the root of a tooth. It interfaces with the bone in the jaw by which a dental prosthesis known as a crown, bridge, or denture can connect to the implant which creates "new teeth" for the patient. They can typically replace a single tooth, multiple teeth or full arch of teeth that is removable or fixed or cemented (Wikipedia).

  1. To prevent the destruction or "cutting down" of adjacent teeth for bridge fabrication
  2. Tp preserve the existing bone in the jaw
  3. To provide a "natural" restoration of function and esthetics
  4. Can replace or advance retention removable appliances
